The Paris manufacturer Puiforcat is among the legends in European silver art. After being founded in 1820, it soon became the silverware supplier for various royal houses.
The founder’s grandchild, Jean E. Puiforcat, also learned the trade. As sculptor, he offered a different approach from his father and was strongly influenced by Art Déco, which was new at that time. Today, Jean E. Puiforcat is considered one of the most famous Art Déco silver artists. He influenced the manufacturer’s use of form over the long term, without ever betraying its roots.
To this very day, Puiforcat’s complex crafting process produces extremely valuable silverware and accessories. Since 1992, Puiforcat has been a part of the Hermès Group.
